Make Connections and Extend Aiki all Over the World
Aikido practitioners are small fraction of the people in your community, your nation, and the world. If you’re committed to the Way of Harmony, you’d like to see that fraction increase - but there will always be many who never set foot inside a dojo.
One way to bridge this gap is to extend Aiki principles beyond the mat and into areas not traditionally exposed to these teachings. Another way is to strengthen your Aiki community by connecting with people all over the world who are developing practices just like yours.
While Aikido practice and the concept of “Aiki” traces back to Morehei Ueshiba (known as O Sensei,) each subsequent teacher has their own interpretation and their own set of influences. If you practice in a dojo, you likely follow a particular Aikido style and you may belong to one of many Aikido associations. All styles and all associations, including people who never practice Aikido in a dojo, are welcome in Aiki Extensions. The principles of Aiki extend far beyond the borders of any particular school.
Aiki Extensions members are students, teachers, and dojo owners, as well as individuals who never practice Aikido in a traditional dojo. We are not a dojo or an association, but a community committed to supporting you in your own path.
