The Santa Cruz Aikido Summer Retreat is an intensive 5-day event, July 12-16, generating a training atmosphere of sincerity and mutual respect. We are committed to equal opportunity for Aikidoists of any gender, race, nationality, sexual orientation or rank.
Our theme for the 2017 Summer Retreat is, “The Spirit of Love and Protection for All.” This is a theme that is central to O-Sensei’s teachings. The word “All” encompasses all people, all living things, and the natural environment of the planet — which makes it a timely (and timeless) message for us to train under, in the big community gathering of the Summer Retreat.
It will be a joy to train together once again with Motomichi Anno Sensei, 8th dan from Kumano, Japan, and with senior Retreat teachers who have dedicated their lives to the Aikido path: Mary Heiny Sensei 6th dan, Linda Holiday Sensei 6th dan, and special guest instructors. Together with all the Aikidoists at the Santa Cruz Retreat from multiple dojos, it will once again be a joyous synergy. Please join us in strengthening “the spirit of love and protection for all!”
“Aikido is a method of purification (misogi). Through the technique of misogi you should continually forge the great spirit of love and protection of all things.”
Daily immersion in Aikido catalyzes deep learning and strengthens a sense of community with others sharing the experience. Join us!
Event Pricing: $320 for all five days. $260 for the Friday-Sat-Sunday option. Some financial aid available.
